Goal for Girls
By Chris Gosek
The U14 Gold girls’ soccer team from Triangle United Soccer (TUSA) had the opportunity of a lifetime recently as a part of the “Goals for Girls” program, travel to Peru, not only receiving training on the soccer field, but also getting a lesson in life.
“Goals for Girls” program is an international initiative that encourages girls from all different places to help one another grow through the game of soccer.
The TUSA girls followed five themes on their trip, which were, leadership, goal setting, teamwork, self-confidence, and healthy lifestyles. They were encouraged to work on developing these things in all activities they took part in on their voyage. The group visited many major landmarks while in Peru in addition to attending the soccer camp they had traveled to take part in. The U14 gold team got to not only play against local teams at the end of the session, but also interact with them, making friendships that will not soon be forgotten in doing so.
