Student Athletes Honored

The hard work and exceptional effort put forth throughout this school year by the student athletes at East Cary Middle was recognized and honored at the school’s athletic awards ceremony, with special guest speaker Debbie Antonelli addressing the students at the event.

Student athletes from all East Cary squads were recognized at the ceremony and each coach also gave out individual awards for improvement, leadership, grades, and exceptional play. Antonelli, a former star basketball player for North Carolina State University and current analyst for ESPN and the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) spoke to the young athletes about the importance of hard work and dedication both on the athletic field and in the classroom in her inspirational speech.
