Learning how Newtons Law applied

Ping Pong Soccer

By Chris Gosek

Ms. Kline’s science classes’ at Wake Forest Rolesville Middle were playing “Ping Pong Soccer,” watching how Newton’s Laws applied to the fun activity.

Three students sat at each table around the classroom, using a straw to blow on and maneuver the ping-pong balls during the activity. The kids were looking at how the unbalanced forces worked in moving the ball around and also had to analyze and explain how things they had learned in class such as friction, speed, and velocity applied to the game.
