Traveling around the World

Art students working with Ms. Parks at West Clayton Elementary have been on a continuing “trip around the world,” using Google Maps to see different landmarks from across the globe, drawing, and painting a picture of the famous structures they viewed.

In addition to seeing such famous spots as the Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and St. Basil’s Cathedral in Russia, the students were also learning of the history behind each of the stops on their “trip.” The young artists were beginning their pieces by drawing an outline of their subjects and then using watercolors to paint once they had finished their drawing.
