Measuring Up

Measuring has been the focus lately in Ms. Park’s classroom at Knightdale Elementary during math time, with students learning not only how to measure items, but also the units which are used to gauge their results.

Their measurement unit has begun with the students focusing on several points, including weight, capacity, length, and width. Ms. Parks’ addressed the class and asked the kids to name the units that would be used in measuring each of these items. The discussion saw the children talking about inches, pounds, and miles among other units of measurement.
