Diamonds Starting to Shine

By Chris Gosek

The Diamonds U9 girls’ soccer team of the Capital Area Soccer League’s (CASL) Raleigh Recreation Division has been seeing their hard work pay off of late as they have found their way into the win column in two of their past three games.
The Diamonds began their spring schedule with several good performances, but fell just short in the first four games against some talented opposition.  They then battled their way to a hard-earned tie against Dynamite, before getting a well-deserved 3-0 shutout victory over the Hot Shots.  After a tough loss to the Strikers, the girls showed their resiliency and bounced back with another victory, outlasting the Chargers by a 2-1 score as they hope to see their momentum continue as they head forward into this weekend’s upcoming contest.

Tribe off to a Terrific Start

By Chris Gosek

The Triangle Tribe 10U baseball team has started their spring USSSA schedule off with impressive results, running their win loss record to 5-3 through their first two tournaments, capturing a solid third place finish in the Global Sports NIT Double Points event in the process.
The Tribe opened spring play at the Eastern Regional ENC, where they earned two victories in their four games, running away from the Varina Vipers twice over that weekend by scores of 6-1 and 7-1 respectively.  Riding the wave of confidence from that first tournament, the Triangle squad headed into the Global Sports event seemingly on a mission, opening play with a 12-2 win over a powerful Hitting Factory Warriors team before avenging an earlier season loss by upending the Greater Cleveland Athletic Association Wildcats by a 9-6 final count.  In the semi-finals the Tribe battled hard as they once again faced off with the Warriors, dropping a very close 6-3 decision, before they bounced back and took home the second runners up honors by outslugging the Carolina Diamond Hawks 10-7.
