Sawyer's Smile 5K Run
Sawyer's Smile 5K Run -- The Lynn Road Elementary School community would like to honor the memory of a very special student, Sawyer Sharp. We hope you’ll join us, either by walking, running or sponsoring, for Sawyer’s Smile 5K Event. Sponsored by the Lynn Road PTA and Girl Scout Troop 486, the Sawyer’s Smile 5K will raise funds for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. When: Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 10am (the 5K ends at the Spring Carnival) Where: Lynn Road Elementary School Who: Any/All Students, Staff and Community Members! Cost: $10/student and $25/adult Participants that sign up by April 19th will receive an event T-shirt. NC Symphony presents LeAnn Rimes
wo-time Grammy Award-winner LeAnn Rimes joins the Symphony to perform the songs that made her legendary. She has been a star since the age of 13, when her 1996 breakthrough hit “Blue” pushed to the Top 10 on country charts. She is also known for hits such as “How Do I Live” and “Can’t Fight the Moonlight,” among many others.

Olds Elementary Spring Fling Carnival & Silent Auction
Fred Olds Elementary Parent Teacher Association will host its annual Spring Fling carnival on May 31, 2013 from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. The community is invited to attend. The carnival will feature games and activities for all ages, including a bouncy castle, a real fire truck, a sports area, games, an arts & crafts area, a bake sale and lots of delicious food, including Snoopy’s Hot Dogs and a taco truck. The evening will feature a silent auction with many exciting items that is a major fundraiser for the school. This year’s offerings will include Gift Baskets of Luxuries for Mom, passes to the US National Whitewater Center, birthday party packages, a Gourmet Gift Basket and more. Proceeds from the event provide support for essential programs funded by the Parent Teacher Association at Fred Olds Elementary, including the Science Fair, the Spelling Bee, Advanced Reader programs, classroom technology, software, cultural arts programs, books, classroom supplies and much more.
